Georgia Tech Police Department

Georgia Tech Police Department use the small (approximately 2 lb.) electric helicopter UAS, called the Hornet Micro from Adaptive Flight, Inc., at special events (but will not fly over crowds). It is also used during day-to-day law enforcement operations to respond to areas before a police officer would to quickly place "eyes on the target or crisis area," regular air patrol functions, and serve as a crime prevention tool. In addition to providing direct benefits to the security of the Georgia Tech campus, it is intended that this project will provide valuable lessons learned for the use of small and quiet electric VTOL UASs for law enforcement nationwide.
